Boat Show, Climatologist Giacomin: "Sector Feels Climate Change"

Venice, May 30 (Adnkronos) – "Climate change with its effects, including for example climate extremization and therefore the increase in intense meteorological phenomena or the rising sea levels and also coastal erosion, impacts 360 degrees on all our systems. The nautical system that lives through an extremely close connection with all the systems linked to the sea and the atmosphere for this reason strongly feels the changes both from a meteorological and climatic point of view".
Thus Serena Giacomin, physicist, climatologist and scientific director of the Italian Climate Network, on the sidelines of the round table “The route of value – dialogues on the changing climate and the culture of sustainability”, promoted by Generali at the Arsenale and held as part of the Venice Boat Show. “Climate data can be helpful when dealing with increasingly frequent extreme weather events,” Giacomin continues. “Therefore, it is important to learn to value these data and recognize their meaning. Failure to do so increases our vulnerability and exposure to risk.”
